Microsoft fined for flouting EU ruling

未执行欧盟裁决 微软再次被罚

微软(Microsoft)昨日被罚款2.805亿欧元(合3.56亿美元)，理由是其没有遵守欧盟委员会(European Commission)两年前作出的一项标志性反垄断裁决。此举令这家美国软件集团在与欧盟监管机构的长期鏖战中再遭重击。

Microsoft was fined ?280.5m ($356m) yesterday for failing to comply with a landmark European Commission antitrust ruling two years ago, dealing another blow to the US software group in its long-running battle with the Brussels regulator.

早在2004年3月，欧盟就判定微软滥用其在电脑操作系统市场的垄断地位，并开出创纪录的4.97亿欧元罚单，而此次罚款也使该公司接到的罚单总额达到7.775亿欧元。这是首次有企业因未遵守欧盟反垄断裁决而受罚。

The punishment comes on top of the record ?497m fine imposed by the Commission in March 2004, when Microsoft was found guilty of abusing its dominant position in the market for computer operating systems, bringing the company’s total fines to date to ?777.5m. It is the first time a group has been penalised for failing to comply with a Brussels antitrust ruling.

Microsoft said it would appeal against the Commission’s decision.
